What is time-sculpting? It is clarity about time as an abundance we can shape, shrink, and stretch. Time-bending is much like water-bending, air-bending or earth-bending, shamanic skills seen in the children’s movie The Last Airbender. More than the ability to manipulate, it’s understanding that the way we live in time is optional. I call it “time-sculpting,” because living in time is an art form that can be learned. This series teaches how to begin to sculpt time.
Time is a precious resource that gives you a huge leg up raising money and other abundant resources. In this Part I post, RAISING CLARITY: to cultivate abundance in noble causes, people, and organizations gives you our understanding of time’s connection with money and other abundant resources.
First of all, time is not money. Money is money–an invented system we’ve agreed to that works for us (and can work better). Human energy is not money. Human beings are not money. Stuff is not money (even valuable stuff). Nature is not money.
Time is like money in that our thoughts about it determine how we experience it. So as with money, clarity about time with the intention of creating abundance creates the experience of having abundant time.
The expectation that we can actually sculpt time creates an expectation of experiencing time as fluid and bendable–in a word, sculptable. This creates understanding of our responsibility for how we experience time. Understanding we’re responsible for how we experience time creates curiosity: how do we experience time? Self-observation of how we experience time creates increasing ability to experience time in ways that delight and serve us, and shape the beloved community on Earth.
Here is our whole series of posts on time-sculpting.
